We already have a lcd hd 32 inch, but got it free and don’t know a thing about it
We have been looking around at numerous stores in the past few months, and have come to conclusion we will either get a sony, samsung or lg. Any advice? Price range is $1,300 & a 42-52 inch. Can anybody give me any light about the dynamic ratio, and the ‘hz’? We have already decided on a 1080p & want a LCD, not a plasma. Thanks!

I was wondering is the 40 gig ps3 a good buy.
Its in my price range i dont really want to go any higher..((((spent the most of my money on a 52 inch lcd 1080p samsung)))) Its my first HD tv. and it looks great…i wanted to just get a blu ray stand alone player but i keep reading the ps3 is a better buy…you can play games…blu rays and update it via internet…The new bundle in a couple months looks nice…But not in my price range…So is the 40 good..i can just buy the duel shock controllers later i guess….And how is the fan noise on the ps3…when watching blu ray….That was a thing brought up in a couple reviews i read….Thanks any info and suggestions appreciated.

I have an xbox 360 that doesn’t have an hdmi port. I recently bought a 52 inch lcd tv that supports 1080p. I’m currently using component cables which support up to 720p. My xbox won’t let me change the resolution to 1080p in the settings menu. If I get an hdmi adapter will my xbox let me change the settings to 1080p, and will I notice a difference?
Also an employee at gamestop told me that the adapter won’t upconvert to 1080p, and that I need to buy a new xbox to really have 1080p, is this true? Thanks

I just got a Samsung 52 inch LCD HDTV. I am looking to put a BluRay setup on it, but I need help making up my mind. I know several people suggest the PS3, but I am looking for something that will upconvert DVDs to near 1080p, and I am eventually going to set up a theater system onto it. I’d like to do some of the BD-Live stuff as well. Anyone have any suggestions or good or bad reviews about the players that they have. Thanks for your opinions.

These both are BD players – that are under 1000 bucks…

I recently just got HD from directv, since i just got a 52 inch lcd tv with 1080p and 120 hertz. since directv doesn’t broadcast in 1080p, should i set the receiver to be in 720p or in 1080i?
i know the difference between progressive and interlaced. i just need to know which would look better?

I want to get the xbox 360 elite for christmas.
I checked and my 52 inch LCD t.v only goes up to 1080i for HDMI.
The xbox 360 elite has a HDMI cable that has 1080p for HDMI.
Can someone explain to me if my graphics will be worse or will my t.v not be compatible with the xbox 360 HDMI cable.
Will i just have 1080i graphics? and are those good ?
If it will be compatible with the xbox HDMI cable, will i have the best possible graphics or no ?
What can i do about this , or should i not even worry about this problem ?

Just got a high def 52 inch LCD sony tv. Also got the high def DishNetwork box. Finally, purchased a receiver (Denon AVR-1508) with three HDMI ports. The instructions in Denon tell me to connect oneHDMI cable from the DishNetwork box to the receiver and then another HDMI cable from the receiver to the TV (HDMI out). Why not just connect an HDMI cable from the DishNetwork box to the TV’s HDMI port directly? Similarly why not just connect the DVD video directly to the TV instead of to the receiver? Does it make a difference? In fact, right now I’m running everything through the receiver and I’m not getting any picture. Please advise. Thanks.
