Definition Composite Rca

Is this 5″ screen even worth it? Is it a decent def?
I’m buying this 5″ screen for my desktop PC as an external extended screen for system info and video (just for fun).
http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=70_293&products_id=22039
If you didn’t see the stats it’s
Resolution – 224×640 pixels: 960 (h) x 234 (v)
Contrast Ratio – 150:1
Brightness rating: 300 Nits
Back light: 15.000 CFT
-FH 15,750 Hz
Video System -FV: 60 Hz
-FC: 3.58 mHz
Cost: $170
It uses the RCA composite video signal from the video card.
So I’m wondering if this is a decent screen? Is it capable of keeping up with standard 24fps video (or is that all dependant on the video card)? Will it have a decent definition (I’m not expecting HD)? Do all video cards have a composite video (RCA) input? Any other comments?
Composite gives very poor image quality. You will not be able to read the text if you want to display system info on it.
The reason why composite is garbage is because it jumbles ALL video data into one signal line. When you jumble all video data into one line like that, you are severely limited in resolution and clarity. And no, not all video cards support composite (because it’s such a POS).
VGA is MUCH clearer and capable of MUCH higher resolutions because it separates a video signal into 5 separate lines– Red, Green, Blue, Vertical-sync and Horizontal-sync.
Why not just buy a computer case with a built-in VGA monitor? Newegg has several HTPC cases like that.
Silverstone makes a steel case with a VGA screen built in: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811163107
Zalman makes an even nicer Aluminum one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811235011
MUCH better than composite.
