Can i program a universal remote to a directv Receiver?
it depends on your universal remote. i work at a local target store and in know that we do sell remotes that are compatible with directv. just check and make sure before you buy it. most of the LOGITECH especially the harmony one will work with directv. check this site out and it should help you out. http://reviews.cnet.com/best-universal-remotes/
but to answer ur question more thoroughly would be hard because i don’t know what kind of remote you mite already have and im not sure of the directions to do that. the directions should be included in the box. i do know the the directv remote can be used for other things such as the tv and Surround sound.
