Projector Lamps – An Inside View
Projector lamps are vital components of projectors, which ensure efficient performance. It is advisable not to move or drag the projector lamp as it is switched on or as it is initiating to start. This activity may shorten the life span of the lamps or it may make the bulb burst at times.
A number of projectors come with different lamp hour ratings. Projector lamps manufactured after the year 2000 have a life expectancy for 2000 hours or more. If you do not increase the brightness more than that is required, it will add many hours to your projector lamps. Every projector lamp has a built-in lamp hour that starts from zero when it is new. Check the menu system of your projector to find out the total lamp hours or go through your user’s manual for instructions. It may look easy to replace a projector lamp, but it is better to follow the owner’s manual for fixing, since the parts are fragile in nature.
Usually, projector lamps come with a warranty period of 60 days or 90 days. You could find the warranty on the projector bulb by referring to the user’s manual or the manufacturer’s warranty information column. If you’re not provided with any manual, look for an online supplier to get the warranty information.
Projector lamps that contain mercury are hazardous when disposed. So it is safe to contact your audio-visual sales executive to know the disposal laws of your state.
