Dvd Recorder Digital
Do I need a new DVD recorder since I now have digital cable?
Comcast forced a digital connection on me, and now I can’t figure out how to record stuff on tv. The channel I used to use for the DVD player/recorder doesn’t show anything now. Do I have to buy a digital video recorder (DVR) to record stuff off digital cable?
You need a digital TUNER for the DVD recorder. The old analog tuner will no longer work.
You should have a digital cable converter box with multiple outputs. Take one of the outputs of the cable box and go into the input of the DVD recorder. Probably a Yellow, Red, White RCA Cable, put that cable into the input of the DVD. Put the DVD recorder on the input video you put the cables into.
Then change the channel with the digital cable converter box, and record on the DVD but leave the channel on the video input.
CAUTION! You will NOT be able to record a channel and watch something else at the same time. To do this you need a second cable converter box.
