Male Gold Plugs
I purchased an HDMI cable to hook my notebook PC up to my TV, but it doesn’t work?

I purchased this to hook my notebook PC up to my TV, but it doesn’t work.
I’ve plugged one end of the cable into the TV (Sony Bravia), and the other end into the laptop (HP G72 notebook PC)
After that on the TV remote, I press Input, and a list of options come up, the options are:
PC
HDMI1
HDMI2
Video2
Video1
TV
Component1
Component2
I have tried all of these options, but the picture from my laptop does not show up on the TV screen!
PC or HDMI1, HDMI2 should have definitely worked, but it didn’t.
I’ve even tried doing it from my laptop. I went to Connect to An External Display, but nothing happens.
Can anyone tell me what is wrong? Did I purchase the wrong cord?
If so, oh well. = / I only paid $2 for it..
Try this:
(before plugging in the cable)
right click on the desktop, and have a look at all the options in the dop down menu you get.
(now plug in the cable in both the TV and Laptop)
Right click again on the desktop, You should have 1 or 2 more options in the drop down menu now. Try clicking each of the new ones with first being the one that make sense as to what you want to do.
This usually works with my laptop, but I use VGA cable the one that usually plugs into both projectors and TV’s….I just don’t remember the exact words on the new drop down option.
