Why Is My Tv Going Black After A Few Seconds?
I just recieved a 52 inch HDTV from someone who said that the problem with it is no picture. (It’s a Phillips HD Projection TV from 2002) Here’s what happens when I plug it in and turn it on: The screen lights up and everything comes up normal, sound and every thing. After about 2-3 seconds, the screen goes black, but the sound still works. I know nothing about Tv’s, but I would assume it has something to do with either the projector and/or the bulbs. What would be the most likely cause of this? Thanks

A faulty component in the output section of your projrctor it cuts out under heat as it recieves a power burst
the tube is damaged
Don’t ask here. Take it back to the shop and get a warranty repair.
Why do people expect there to be a TV repair man watching here?
If the set using bulb this must be the DLP/LCD proj TV.
I don’t know how Phillips unit works, but my guess is one of the protection is working maybe it detect one of the fan not working or the temp IC which detect the temp broken.
check that your aerial is correctly connected to the tv
