Plasma TV Question TV cuts in and out on HDMI connection but not on Coaxial connection?
I have a 50 inch Plasma TV about 4 years old. When it is hooked to the Cable box through a HDMI connection the picture and shoud cuts out at irrecular intervals every so many seconds. I have tried a differt box and different cable. The other TV in another room is good and does not do it. I took a coaxial cable from the back of the box to the TV and the TV works fine but does not get the HD picture quality. I believe it must be in the TV end of the HDMI connection system. It has RCA connectors and S connectors video /RCA plug sound connector points on the RV. Do not know if these will give me a HD picture or not. What do you think is the problem and can it be a simple fix?
If your tv has red/green/blue video + red/white audio component inputs, that will give you HD as good as HDMI from a cable box. Just adjust your tv’s component input after attaching the box for best pic as the settings will be slightly different than HDMI settings.
I use component on all my HD tvs with cable boxes and the pic is perfect with no HDMI handshake issues.
