Could I use my computer monitor as a TV?
well, my flat panel monitor has a much higher resolution than my TV,
and I wanna know if this will work. I found this on ebay, and I’m wondering if I could hook up my PS2 via RCA cables to my monitor and be able to play it with this:

No, that adapter will NEVER work.
Those VGA-to-S-video adapters are for video cards with a specially-built VGA port capable of sending out an S-video signal, for connecting to an S-video input on a TV.
It will NOT work in reverse to connect an S-video source to a VGA monitor. If you attempt to use that adapter in that fashion, you will get NO image.
