No – firstly that’s a video cable, not for sound, and it doesn’t fit any port on the PS3.
To connect a PS3 to a digital surround sound receiver you need a TOSLINK optical cable. This fits into the port marked DIGITAL OUT (OPTICAL) on the rear of the console.
