Swiveling Wall Mount
How come there is’nt a wall mount developed for a 47″ Samsung DLP HDTV (41″W x 29″ H x 11 3/4″ D ) ?
Since moving into a smaller dwelling, I had to ditch my large entertainment center.I customized a shelf over the fireplace for the flat-screenn to rest on.
Now I’m moving to a smaller area-ed living room.I want to know why no one has developed a swivel TV mount for my 47″ DLP,like they had made for all of the other tubeTVs’ in the past. Just because it’s not a true flat panel HDTV does’nt mean all of us consumers who have these should be excluded.
Not only are they too big, they’re awkwardly shaped because its large but thick. 11″ thick.
You would have to have a cage system to mount it because a single piece of metal on the bottom would never hold it because there is no support for the front edge. Now if there were ever a cage it would have to be a humongous cage in order to distribute the load evenly. Adding weight after weight would mean it would be 100+ pounds. You’d break something up to this point.
Moreover, older tube TV mounts were limited in size. The max I ever saw was around a 32″ mount and I say that would be the max with that much weight.
Flat panels, however, have the mount affixed to their back and the load is distributed evenly because it’s flat and not all that thick.
