Video Cable Bnc
Can video equipment w/ BNC connections be used w/ 75Ωcable &/or RCA connections?
I bought a bunch of various types of used video equip, at an auction.
It’s mostly consumer camcorders, VCR’s, TV’s w/ 75Ω cable and/or RCA connections. I’m well familiar w/ THOSE however, some of the cameras, monitors, and a late-1970′s Shintron Effects Generator, have BNC’s as their input/outputs.
Is there a relatively simple way to make the consumer items compatible w/ the commercial stuff?– Like making it possible to use a monitor w/ BNC’s & a VCR that only has 75Ω cable and/or RCA out’s?
I have basic INTERNAL knowledge of electronics… I CAN solder, if that’s a skill that might have to be employed to make mod’s– if any mod’s exist, that is!
You can use adapters that you can buy from any decent electronics site or retailer, or even better you can make your own cable by putting a BNC connector on one end and an F connector on the other. All of the cable should be 75 ohm and you can determine your own connections on each end. All you have to have are the correct compression and crimping tools and the correct connectors. If you have the right tools and connectors, you can possibly make money by building custom cables for distributors like Graybar Electric, Power & Telephone Supply, and Arris Solutions. They need small companies for special cables like this that are not commercially available.
