Video Selector Switcher
How can I record one channel on a dvd recorder and watch another channel using a AV Switcher?
I have a DVR and DVD Recorder. I would like to transfer the movies from the DVR to DVD using a DVD recorder. Someone told me I could use an Audio Video Switcher (Selector). I have tried several different configurations and I can’t get it right. I start recording and when I switch inputs and change the channel, the channel I’m recording also changes.
To record one channel while viewing another live channel, you need two tuners.
Assuming you have one tuner, you have one “play DVR” and one “record/watch Live” permission.
When you transfer from the DVR to the DVD recorder, in effect you use your “play DVR” permission. Your DVR can still record a live show from the Tuner (but you can’t it watch it at that time – you can only watch it later).
